Therapeutic touch for woman

Internal pelvic education and touch for sexual health and childbirth care (pre and post).

In my study to become a birthing partner (doula) I came upon two wildly passionate and seasoned midwives. Jenny Blyth and Fiona Hallinan. I learnt with these women, perhaps for the first time in my early womanhood, to listen to my body and honour her as a place of wonder, strength and wisdom. Jenny and Fiona were teaching internal pelvic touch to prepare for birth. As I ventured into the world of the pelvis, hearing and sharing stories with other women of tensions and memory stored within, of the harm and the disconnect, but also of the bliss and the sovereign guidance, I became more and more passionate about women’s pelvic and sexual and whole-being health in general. In 2016 I embarked on a training in Yoni mapping therapy. Yoni mapping therapy centred around sexuality and the yoni (Yoni is a Sanskrit term for the whole pelvic and reproductive region). Deeply inspired, I went on to combine the birth-work wisdom with the method of yoni mapping and later the added depth of somatic movement therapy (which filled the gaps around working with trauma). I also taught pleasure education for women, hosting workshops and courses on cultivating safety and building sensitivity.

This approach to sexual wellbeing and pelvic care is something I wish for all woman to receive. A sisterly, grounded experience of the body, without rush or expectation to show up in any way particular way for someone else. Knowing the beauty of our bodies beyond what they can do for another is crucial in knowing who we are and cultivating loyalty to our own ongoing wellbeing. Our sex is one of our primary seats of safety in the world. Sensitive and responsive, when we know safety and pleasure this root somatic level we are able to breathe and be in the naturalness of our own life energy more often for ourselves and, overflowing from self into our families, career and friendships.
