First of all : If you have landed here on this website it’s likely you’re not looking for someone to “fix” you but rather support you to optimise your wellbeing. For a “quick fix” we go to a doctor, we ask for a pill and we carry on living just the way we were while we wait for the medicine to kick in. This might work for a time, and medical science has given us many miracles, but it certainly doesn’t empower us into an optimal state. The only real “quick fix” that treats all aliments is daily attention to constructive deep rest, this allows the bio intelligence of your body to feedback to you your current state and direct you to what needs attention. It is in rest that we are able to assimilate our life, take in what is useful, discard what is not and create space for the world to commune with us in the present moment. If we find our selves in the present moment in pain, physical or emotional, this is the body signalling it needs support.
Like Thai and Shiatsu Massage, Zenthai Shiatsu is facilitated on a futon mattress on the earth. This close proximity with the ground, such a stable magnetic presence, provides the invitation for client’s to completely surrender the tensions of having to ‘do’ and ‘be’ this that or the other and instead have the opportunity to give the weight of the world back to the body of the earth.
The way Zenthai shiatsu works to treat discomfort and dis-ease is by listening to the body and discovering where there is tension/ restriction/ holding, where there is excessive build up of Ki/energy and where there is depletion. Through graceful movement of the clients body, encouraging relaxation and the unwinding of tension in connective tissues, through the redirection of Ki and blood flow, by bringing fluid movement to the joint spaces and with attention to the organ bodies via the meridian lines, Zenthai Shiatsu works to harmonise the Whole Being.
Science is confirming more and more what traditional/ alternative therapies have known all along, we have to approach healing from a holistic perspective. We must treat/see people in their wholeness. Everything is surely connected to everything. When treat the whole the parts can return to fullness. So over the duration of a session the nervous system has time to switch into rest and digest, the organ bodies are tended, the muscular-skeletal system is be reminded of its optimal function and alignment and the base line emotional needs for safety, connection and care are nourished.
Why you should consider booking more than one session :
We don’t just go the gym once, or one yoga class and we’re done, fit for life. Optimal health is a commitment to regular nourishment and the cultivation of Ki. If you’re truly committed to well-being and fortunate enough to have the time and money to direct into health supplements, fitness classes, organic food etc then I would highly suggest you add to your essentials at least one massage a month, and if you don’t feel like you have the time for that, then I would suggest you have two a month. Because we can NOT sustain our busy lives and continue kicking goals without giving our selves time to rest assimilate and update/upgrade our software.
Is it greedy or selfish to take care of your self like this, unfortunately many of us feel it is, ‘Isn’t that a bit indulgent’. This cultural mentality is a real shame. Your health and wellbeing is what fortifies you to be able to help another. Self care IS planetary care.
